Etwatwa Crossing (Opening October 2026)
Etwatwa is a township situated near Benoni within Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality and on the edge of Gauteng and Mpumalanga Province. Located on the eastern border of Etwatwa at the corner of Modder Road & Chris Street, Etwatwa is extremely accessible and well positioned to serve the requirements of the local community.
A 3,5 & 7km drive-distance catchment from the proposed site was used to guide the delineation of the catchment area, The primary catchment was delineated close to a 5 km localized catchment, however, taking the whole of Etwatwa Extension 26 into consideration as well.
Other than a Usave located in the south of Etwatwa and some scattered independent spaza shops there are currently no formal shopping centres within the catchment area. There are three shopping centres outside the catchment area in Daveyton and Mayfield, with Mayfiels Square being the largest, followed by Daveyton Mall, which is home to Boxer and a Pick ‘n Pay.
